Why a family pool villa in Phuket beats two hotel rooms
Travelling with children changes what matters. A family pool villa in Phuket gives you one front door, a private pool the children can use whenever they wake up from a nap, and a kitchen for the breakfasts and snacks that keep everyone happy.
At Green Garden Villas, the two-bedroom and three-bedroom villas include:
- A private swimming pool and private tropical garden
- A fully equipped kitchen and a living room
- An en-suite bathroom (toilet and shower) for every bedroom
- Air conditioning, TV, free Wi-Fi and daily cleaning
Two-bedroom or three-bedroom: which fits your family
Two-bedroom (up to 4 guests). One double bed and two single beds across two bedrooms, with a living room that opens onto the garden. It is the natural choice for two parents and two children.
Three-bedroom (up to 8 guests). Two bedrooms each have a double and a single bed, and the third has two single beds. It suits larger families, grandparents travelling along, or two families sharing.
A couple with one young child can also use the one-bedroom villa, which sleeps 2 adults and 1 child but has a refrigerator rather than a kitchen. The full comparison is on our private pool villa page.
Pool safety with children
A private pool is a joy with children, and it also means there is no lifeguard. Please keep an adult within arm's reach of young children and non-swimmers whenever they are in or near the water, and agree a simple family rule, such as no pool without a grown-up watching.
If you need anything specific for babies or toddlers, contact us before you travel and we will tell you honestly what we can arrange.
Family-friendly beaches near Nai Harn
Nai Harn Beach is about 700 m of golden sand and is generally calm from about November to April. Tall casuarina trees give shade at the back of the beach, and in high season umbrellas are rented at the southern end. A stream from the lake crosses the sand at the south end, so little ones may need to be carried across.
Ya Nui, a sheltered cove of about 100 m just south of Nai Harn, is a known snorkelling spot. Low tide exposes rocks, so swimming is easier for children at high tide, and they should stay close to shore. Kayaks and snorkel gear can be rented on the beach. More options are in our beaches near Nai Harn guide.
From about May to October the southwest monsoon brings waves and rip currents to west-coast beaches, even on sunny days. Lifeguards are typically on duty at Nai Harn; red flags mean no swimming, so stay between the yellow-red flags.
Easy outings with kids
- Nai Harn Lake: paddle boats on the water and a flat path of about 2 km around it, good for little legs or a buggy.
- Promthep Cape: the shrine with hundreds of elephant statues and a small free museum in the lighthouse. Entry is free; go in the daytime to avoid the sunset crowds.
- Koh Bon by longtail: about 15 minutes from Rawai, a common family snorkelling trip. Make sure everyone wears a life vest.
- Phuket Aquarium at Cape Panwa: Andaman Sea species, a walk-through tunnel and touch pools, about 30 minutes' drive from Rawai. Open about 08:30–16:30 (last entry 16:00).
- Splash Jungle Water Park: in the far north at Mai Khao, about 15 minutes from the airport, so it fits best on your last day before a flight.
Why families find Green Garden Villas easy
The practical things add up. Restaurants, cafés, shops, a 7-Eleven and local markets are within walking distance, so you can pick up milk, fruit or dinner without the car. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, which makes bedtime and mornings smoother. Daily cleaning means you are not spending your holiday tidying up.
And when the sea is rough in the monsoon months, the private pool still gives the children their daily swim.
Getting here with children
Phuket International Airport is in the far north of the island, about 46–49 km (roughly 30 miles) from Nai Harn, around 60–75 minutes by car depending on traffic. Metered taxis and limousine counters are at both terminals, and Grab has official pickup zones. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Our airport guide has the full details.
Local tips
- Visit Ya Nui at high tide with children; low tide exposes rocks.

- Nai Harn Lake is best in the late afternoon, when it is cooler for a walk or a paddle boat.
- Pack sun protection for everyone: average daytime highs are about 31–34 °C all year.
- Use life vests on every longtail boat trip, however short.
