Most couples want the same three things from a honeymoon pool villa in Phuket: privacy, a pool they do not have to share, and somewhere beautiful within easy reach. Our one-bedroom villa covers the first two on its own.

Sunsets: Promthep Cape and the Windmill Viewpoint

Nai Harn Bay faces west, and two of Phuket's favourite sunset spots are close by.

Promthep Cape is the southernmost point of the island. The sun goes down around 18:00–18:30 depending on the season. It gets busy, so arrive at least 30 minutes early for a good spot. Beside the lighthouse is a shrine ringed by hundreds of elephant statues, left by visitors whose wishes came true. Entry is free.

The Windmill Viewpoint, just past Nai Harn on the road to the cape, looks over Nai Harn Bay on one side and Ya Nui Beach and the islet of Koh Man on the other. It is popular with photographers, including for pre-wedding shoots, and has a shaded sala and a drinks and ice-cream stall.

Beaches for two

• Nai Harn Beach: about 700 m of golden sand with clear water, framed by green hills. The northern end is quieter; umbrellas are rented at the southern end in high season.
• Ao Sane: a small cove of about 130 m with granite boulders, just over the northern headland, about 1 km on foot from Nai Harn. It has a small beach restaurant, and snorkelling is okay when the sea is calm.
• Ya Nui: a tiny sheltered cove for snorkelling, with kayaks for the paddle to Koh Man, about 700 m offshore.

Slow days in Nai Harn

Some of the best moments here cost nothing. Walk the flat path of about 2 km around Nai Harn Lake in the late afternoon, when it is cooler. Visit Wat Nai Harn between the lake and the beach; entry is free, but cover shoulders and knees.

Massage studios, cafés and restaurants are within walking distance of the villa. For a casual seafood dinner, go to Rawai Seafood Market: you buy fish or prawns at a stall and a restaurant across the road cooks them for a fee. Agree the price first.

A day on the water

From Rawai, about 2–4 km from Nai Harn, longtail boats run to Koh Bon (about 15 minutes), Coral Island (Koh Hae, about 15–20 minutes) and Racha Island (about 30–45 minutes). Fares are negotiated with the boatmen on the waterfront. Larger speedboat tours leave from Chalong Pier, about 5 km away. Our island trips guide compares the options.

If you prefer to stay on land, the Big Buddha, a 45 m white marble statue on Nakkerd Hill facing Chalong Bay, is roughly 30–40 minutes by road from Nai Harn. Entry is free, it is open about 09:00–18:00 (last entry 17:30), and knees and shoulders must be covered; sarongs are provided.

Why couples choose Green Garden Villas

The appeal is simple: a quiet area, your own pool to come back to after the beach or the sunset, and everyday essentials on foot, from restaurants to a 7-Eleven. You are close to the far south's viewpoints and coves without being in a busy resort strip.
