Phuket International Airport (HKT) is about 46–49 km (roughly 30 miles) from Nai Harn, at the opposite, northern end of the island, and the drive takes around 60–75 minutes depending on traffic. The simplest ways to get from Phuket airport to Nai Harn are a metered taxi, an airport limousine or a Grab car straight to the door. The Phuket Smart Bus costs less but takes about two hours and ends at Rawai Beach, not in Nai Harn.

Phuket airport to Nai Harn: the short answer
The airport sits in the far north of Phuket and Nai Harn is at the southern tip, so the transfer crosses almost the whole island: about 46–49 km (roughly 30 miles) by road. Expect around 60–75 minutes by car. In the late-afternoon rush, roughly 16:00–19:00, it can take longer.
You have four realistic choices. Three of them take you door to door; one is a cheaper bus that leaves you a short ride away.
| Option | Where to find it | Goes to | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metered taxi | Counters outside both terminals | Your villa | 100 THB airport surcharge added to the meter |
| Airport limousine | Counters inside, after baggage claim | Your villa | Fixed fares shown on a board |
| Grab | Official pickup zones (T2 Exit 8, T3 near Exit 1) | Your villa | The only app with an official airport pickup zone |
| Phuket Smart Bus | T3, Exit 3, departures level | Rawai Beach | About 2 hours, roughly hourly; not to Nai Harn itself |
Step by step: from arrivals to your villa
- Clear immigration and collect your bags. International flights use Terminal 2, domestic flights Terminal 3.
- Decide before you walk out. The airport limousine counters are inside the terminal after baggage claim, so compare their posted fixed fares here first.
- For a taxi, head outside to the metered taxi counter. The fare runs on the meter, plus a 100 THB airport surcharge.
- For Grab, book in the app and walk to the official pickup zone: outside Exit 8 at Terminal 2, or near Exit 1 at Terminal 3.
- Show the address: Green Garden Villas, 78 Soi Naya, Rawai, Mueang Phuket 83130. Keep our number, +66 81 116 1231, handy in case your driver wants directions.
- Settle in for the drive. Around 60–75 minutes later you are in Nai Harn, with your own private pool waiting.
Metered taxi or airport limousine
Both take you straight to the villa, which makes them the easiest choice after a long flight, with children, or with plenty of luggage.
- Metered taxi: counters are just outside both terminals. You pay what the meter shows plus the 100 THB airport surcharge.
- Airport limousine: the counters are inside the terminals after baggage claim. Fares are fixed and displayed on a board, so you know the price before you leave the building.
We don't quote fares here, because they change. Check the board or ask at the counter before you commit.
Grab, Bolt and inDrive at Phuket airport
Grab is the only ride-hailing app with an official airport pickup zone: outside Exit 8 at Terminal 2 (international) and near Exit 1 at Terminal 3 (domestic). You see the price in the app before you book, and the driver gets the destination pin, which helps on the smaller lanes around Nai Harn.
Bolt and inDrive also operate in Phuket, but they cannot pick up at the terminal kerb, and Bolt has fewer drivers. For the airport run, Grab is the practical pick. Once you are settled, the same app is useful for getting around Phuket from Nai Harn.
Phuket Smart Bus: the budget route to Rawai
The Phuket Smart Bus runs from the airport down the west coast, stopping at Surin, Kamala, Patong, Karon and Kata, and ends at Rawai Beach. It does not go into Nai Harn itself.
- The airport stop is at Terminal 3, Exit 3, on the departures level.
- Buses run roughly hourly, and the ride to Rawai takes about two hours.
- Fares have varied between sources, so check the current price when you board.
- Timetables and live bus positions are on the OneMap portal (onemap.phuket.cloud), which works in a mobile browser.
From the Rawai Beach terminus you still need a short Grab or taxi ride to the villa. Note that the separate "Airport Bus" goes only to Phuket Town, not to the south.
Timing your arrival: check-in from 15:00
Check-in at Green Garden Villas is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00. If your flight lands in the morning, factor in the 60–75 minute drive and plan the gap: lunch at one of the restaurants or cafés within walking distance, or a first look at Nai Harn Beach, 2.2 km (1.4 miles) away. If you have questions about an early arrival or late departure, contact us before you travel.
On the way home, leave a generous margin, especially for afternoon flights when rush-hour traffic builds. If you have an evening flight and a free day, Splash Jungle Water Park at Mai Khao is about 15 minutes from the airport and better suited to a last day than a day out from Nai Harn.
Why Nai Harn is worth the longer drive
The south of the island is further from the airport than Patong or the northern beaches, and that is part of its appeal: Nai Harn is low-rise and quiet, with one of Phuket's best swimming bays in the calm months. See our guide to where to stay in Phuket for how it compares.
At Green Garden Villas, every villa has its own private pool and tropical garden, so after the flight you can be in the water within minutes of arrival. Families arriving late can cook a simple first meal in the fully equipped kitchen of a two-bedroom or three-bedroom villa, and a 7-Eleven is within walking distance for supplies. Couples may prefer the one-bedroom villa. Check availability once your flights are set.
Local tips
- Save the address 78 Soi Naya, Rawai on your phone before you fly.
- If you can choose your flight, avoid landing so that you hit the roads at around 16:00–19:00, when the drive south can stretch well beyond an hour.
- Using Grab? Walk to the official pickup zone (T2 Exit 8, T3 near Exit 1); other apps cannot collect you at the terminal kerb.
- With children or lots of luggage, a taxi or limousine is usually simpler than the Smart Bus, which takes about two hours and still leaves you a ride short of Nai Harn.
- For the Smart Bus, check live positions on the OneMap portal (onemap.phuket.cloud) so you are not waiting longer than needed at Terminal 3.
